Corfu
The island Corfu (Or Kerkyra in Greek language) is located in a north-west part of Ionian Sea. Unusual island's landscape combines mountains and plains, recluse bays and long beaches, monuments of ancient and contemporary architecture.
Be a crossroads of East and West in an entrance of the Adriatic, the island always took attention. Its land was passed by Romans and Normans, Goths and Venetians, Turks and Frenchmen, Englishmen and Russians. The culture of Corfu includes customs and traditions of many countries, what gives an unique charm to the island.

There is a Mediterranean climate here, almost there are no rains in summer. The most pleasant time for trip is the end of March - middle of June or begging of September - end of October.
Unique beauty of the capital of the island of Corfu - the same city - give entirely different architectural elements, remnants of various cultures that flourished on the island, connected in one harmonious whole. Old Town is the largest "live" medieval complex in Greece. It is guarded by the government. Layout of the streets is at random, and the picturesque narrow streets "kantunya" (where it is possible only to walk on foot) lead to the monuments, Byzantine churches, Venetian stairs and wearing a stone sources.
Corfu is a city of two fortresses. On the one part it is fenced by the Old or fortification - a Byzantine fortress, rebuilt and fortified by the Venetians in 1546. On the other part, next to the Old Port, New or Coast Castle is located. It was built between 1576 and 1588 to protect the city against a possible Turkish attack.

"Muraya", a seaside promenade with lights, running along the medieval wall, is an extremely picturesque, on the one side it is bordered with bright-green sea, on the other with the bright green vegetation.
Corfu is an ideal place for a quiet family and luxury holiday, for sports enthusiasts. Coast of the island with pristine beaches and azure sea-water of Ionian Sea stretches for 217 km. Here it is possible to find a secluded cove, even in the midst of the holiday season when overcrowded resorts of east coast is inundated with tourists.
